Bout of Books 13 Wrap-Up

The Bout of Books 13 Read-a-thon is over! It finished yesterday but I finished up today. Since today is a holiday and technically still the weekend, I'm counting it as part of the week-long read-a-thon.
There aren't strict rules to Bout of Books so I can bend the time frame however I want to meet my own goals, right?

My goal for the week was to finish a physical book, an audio book, and an e-book, and I did it!

The physical book I read was A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway. I read this one a little bit each night and finished it on Thursday. I enjoyed the book, but I'm not sure it was a great choice for a read-a-thon. The chapters are essays that are pretty stand-alone so it's not the type of book that you feel you have to keep reading to find out what will happen. It was cool reading it after having visited Paris because I could picture the setting accurately.

For my audio book I listened to The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith. I listened to this one each day on my commute to and from work, then finished it on Sunday. It was a long audio book but enjoyable.

The e-book I read was The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. I read her other book, I'll Give You the Sun on my kobo a while ago and really enjoyed it. I started this one on Friday and finished it today. (I didn't read at all on Saturday, though.) It was a beautiful story with really unique, human characters. I have really enjoyed her writing and can't wait to see what she does next.

Overall I think I did pretty well at the read-a-thon. I read more than I usually do in a week, and it was a busy week at work and a busy weekend, as well, so I was happy I made more time to read. I enjoyed all three of these books and I had a lot of fun participating in the daily challenges that went along with Bout of Books.

The next one is in August, and I will probably participate because I had a great time.

Check out my challenges from the week:
